The first global aluminum value chain certification standard issued and began certification! Focus on responsible production and procurement of aluminum!

The aluminum governance initiative today (15 December 2017) issued a new aluminum value chain certification standard focusing on responsible production, responsible procurement and corporate governance of important industrial aluminum.

Aluminum has a variety of uses and high recovery. In a series of fields such as transportation, construction, packaging and electronics, the demand for aluminum is growing. ASI's new certification standards will cover all stages of the value chain in the aluminium industry, including bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminum smelting, aluminum processing material manufacturing, aluminum product design and manufacturing, and aluminum recycling.

ASI group was established in 2015 and is a non-profit entity. Its members are global and are geared to all interested institutions. ASI is managed by an eight member board of directors, six of whom are elected from the member unit and have two independent directors.

In 2016 and 2017, ASI's standards committee oversees the open consultation process to develop and complete standards and support the development of ASI guidelines and audit models. ASI's indigenous Advisory Forum is responsible for contacting the board and two representatives are present on the Standards Committee.
